Default Torque Converter Bolts

Hey,

I have a turbo 400 trans. and i want to repalce the converter bolts with some ARP bolts. Now when i look them up it say that he TH350 uses 3/8 bolts and 3/4 long. My converter bolts are 3/8 but I have a TH400. And they say use 7/16 bolts on the converter for a TH400. Do I have a TH350 Converter in my TH400? Can you do That? Is there something I am missing? Please let me now what you guys think.... Thanks

Thumbs up

The converters fit both 350's and 400's , does your converter have threaded lugs welded on it, or 3 flanges that you put the bolts thru with a nut on the back? if it's the latter, you can "open up" the holes carefully with a die grinder, and use 7/16's, just make sure you've got the right length, so there's no interference, if you got threaded lugs, your stuck with 3/8's! as I wouldn't attempt to enlarge them!
