Default Tailpipes.

I am thinking of changing the tailpipes on my car. I don't really like the look of the pipes out the back. I have the 3 inch Pypes set up now with the chrome tips. They kinda hang low, was thinking of different pipes, or splitters or something else.
I would like to see what everyone else has.
I have Dougs headers, into 3 inch x pipes, with dumps, into Dynomax mufflers, to the tail pipes, coming straight out the back.
Was hoping to leave all the front assembly on and swapping from the mufflers back.
Oval exhaust ?

I like them tucked up by the trunk floor and angling down and out on the corners.

Rusty-
Mine are like Brent's...under the trunk and down\out at the corners. If I have to do it again, I would it the same way but make the tailpipe a little less noticeable.

You hurtin for things to do on your mean machine? :-)

I have trumpets on 2 1/2 inch x-pypes. I like the original look. Not sure if you can get them for the 3" systems. Personally not a fan of split tail pieces in the 66 and 67's.

Rugratman, not the best pics in the world, but you get the idea.

The 1st two pics are when i had a 2 inch exhaust, and some cheepy tips i picked up at autozone about 9 yrs ago, havent seen another pair since.

The next pics are when i got my pypes 2 1/2 exhaust with their splitters, as you can see from the pics, my old pair where quite a bit forward.

I kind of liked that look better, but after paying for the new stuff, i just didnt want to start hacking everything up.

If you want some better pics, let me know..................Rich

The problem I have is just behind the rear wheel well, the tailpipe is about 1 inch under the sheetmetal, so it will not go any higher. The pipes come out straight out the back, with tips. Standing back from the car a few feet, I see the entire tail pipe from the rear axle back. Any more up, and it will bang.
Could be the curse of the 3 inch .......
I would like to see a pic from underneath, as the pipes tuck up under on the sides, by the hangers.
Great color too, Love the blue.

I kinda like your set up.
You just cut the pipes back and put on the splitters?
Again, I love the color of the car....

Beautiful color! Very clean car & tastefully done.
Honestly, if you did not point out the old Autozone pipes compared to the new, I would not of even noticed..
