Default 1971 455 HO Intake

From everything I have read, they are painted engine color. However, I have seen a lot of pictures of them left natural. What did they do at the factory? To be painted or not to be painted, that is the question????

the ones i've taken apart were all painted and that is what i've been told over the years.i think the ra IV was the only one with them left natural.alot of guys like the look of the aluminum so they leave them unpainted correct or not.

Warbird is right on. 71 and 72 alum intakes were painted from the factory.

Yes to the above. Painted on '71-'72.

I bought mine new in '72 and friend bought a new '72 TA. Both painted.
