Default 1967 GTO Air Cleaner Base

Could/would someone with an original air cleaner for a 67 GTO post or e-mail me a couple of pictures of the base only? Maybe someone could direct me to a website with this information.

I have two bases, and I don't think either of them are correct. This is for the 49 state car, not the California version. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,

The open element air cleaner uses rubber around the outside of the air cleaner base. I have one.

Default HO Air Cleaner

If know one else already has pics of a 67 HO open element air cleaner asy I can take some pics of mine. My car is a YZ 78,XXX mile car, but I'm unsure what rubber piece that Ken K is talking about. Maybe he can post some pics for us.

This is an original 335hp base that I restored. Top and bottom views. The opening is 5" for the quadrajet if I remember correctly. Hope this helps.

Brad, funny you should mention this, because it took me a while to decide. The restoration guide says this should be black. However, I got it in original shape and it was silver, maybe even silver cad or some other plating. If you look on page 318 of the resto guide, it shows a picture of a 66 silver baseplate with black lettering, thats exactly what I have, exepct 67 for the quadrajet. The book says black, but shows a pic of a silver one. Plus, the repro decal came in black letters. So, I restored it the way I found it.

My original, unrestored one (that I've had since new) looks just like the photo's that Jason67 posted.

The base I have is black. I don't know if I want to post a picture because I know how to make a copy. It does not have the same edge as the repop air cleaners. I also have a air cleaner from a Firebird that has holes around the outside it looks like they might have been done at the factory, the holes are evenly spaced, they mis the stencil and there is metal screen inside.

I will take a picture of the Firebird air cleaner. They had a few different air cleaners for the 67s. The CA A.I.R. cars used the same air cleaner as the Firebird, it's a single snorkel that has a 3X14 element.

In 1978 I had a 1968 Fierbird convertible 400 3-speed and had the 1967 tall tach on the hood that had the holes like your filter. I have the Vin # some place.

I have another air cleaner that looks like it but it does not have the holes or the screen inside.

Jason67, thank you for the photos. One of my bases looks the same as yours except for the height through the hole in the base. Look at your first photograph, would you measure from the table top to the highest point of the base through the hole? That same dimension appears to be greater on mine. Thanks,

Default Hmmm A bit taller you say...

Possibly like this ?
If so you might have the base for an OHC Sprint Pancake lid.
