Is this the Pontiac race or is it a series of races at VMP?

John, I believe that Lee is referring to the "Pontiac in the Park" event in May.

Hope to be there this year Lee! You've been very quiet for quite some time Lee...how's the car, any new times?

Brian:

No new times we had to do alot of dyno tuning and it ate into fall and by then it was to late to get to the track....also other engine related issues....best pull was 844 hp at the rear wheels..

How about you???? I heard your car was up and running??? how does it look??? Got any numbers from the dyno???

It would be nice to see you and Brad Spidel at VMP this spring looks like we would be the blown contingent in the heads up racing....I think we would all be underdogs against Langer(after reading that HPP article on him) but it will be fun to try and win it.....

Feel free to email me at cls@perigee.net for off the record discussion....

Lee

I was pushing it again this year, paying more money, but some thought it wasn't enough even thou it was more then the Q-16 or any other class at ANY PONTIAC EVENT and paid back better. Couldn't generate enough interest, so I let it go.

Lee,

Will do. I'll try to shoot you an e-mail within the next day or so.

P-dude,

Really, I thought you had it hammered out and/or other people stepped up?

Exactly. It would kinda suck if the people mentioned showed and there was no "street car" race. None of us really fit into the classes they offer.

will be there no matter if there is a "10.5 inch street car race" or not. look forward to having some fun with my car this year instead of changing gaskets only to have it fail on the trannybreak!!! i never made a trip down the track last year with a sealed engine!! went 6.00@116.8 in th1/8mile that way.. car has been a lot quicker than that with dif. combo's. i just want to make it down the track with all 8 cylinders sealed and see what it will run.

Hey Pontiac Dude:

I figured you did not get much of a response because you posted that stuff about 1 year before the next race....it was just to early to ask....I bet we have a bunch of fast cars ready to run this race once we get closer to April...

I thought Pontiac Zone sponsered this thing anyway....Are you putting up money also?????

Here's the poop:

I was putting up the money and was looking to get more sponsors involved to really get a big payday. Ask Jim Zeek if ya don't believe me about me sponsoring it.
Then went looking for more money. The owner of PZ sent me a scathing e-mail about not having anything to do with the heads up deal & Jim Zeek when I asked if he wanted to get involved again this year.

The topic was posted in the fall to generate intersst and see the playa's.
and all I got was not enough money, too far away, too many rules. They are made for your car, yada, yada, yada.

I started the first Q-8 heads up deal at Maple Grove in 2001...... and then couldn't get the Pontiac community involved. Had to Give it up. Jim Yanoski won it.
Then Butler started it again and now it's the Frantic 4. But the dude had it first.

If someone wants to take the reins and go. Get ahold of Jim and Do it

Last years deal actually started out with John calling me out and then after I discussed it with Ga*ch He decided (when he owned PZ) to turn it into a money heads up deal. With the new owner of PZ JL Harper and **** putting up the money.

We will be there. But not to say I won't grudge race anyone.

Pontiac Dude:

So is this race dead....are you willing to put up any any money at all to sponsor this thing????

If you put up 2500.00 and Zeek puts up 1000.00 I will put up 1000.00 so long as we get a minimum of 8 cars....winner take all, all cars must weigh the same, 1 power adder only, 10.5 tire only.

Lee

Most likely this money will go to THE LANGER KICK CHEVY AND FORD ASS FUND but it works for me...

I'm already commited to the Q-16 now.

Sorry. I lost my silver spoon when I was born. LOL.

Winner take all isn't fair to all the entree's. Plus the fact that you won't get 8 cars. That's the trouble with the other organizations and thier payback with car counts.

But not my show anymore and all stuff has to go thru Jim first anyway.

Talk to Jim. It's his show at VMP. I'm not stepping on any toes.

But you looking for a match race at VMP? For money? That can be done anytime during the weekend and annonced.

When Lil Jack and I ran at Norwalk it was last qualifying on Sunday for the Q-16 We waited to last. They even announced it over the air and played it up some. We had a ball in staging smack talking before it came down.
I think the same deal could be done on Saturday or Sunday at VMP.

Well I have to say that this situation really sucks....very disapointing

As for match racing we can set that up when we see who shows at VMP rather than now....

I guess the most fun at VMP will be Fri nite when we can line our Pontiacs up against some of the local racers in the evening...I remember last year there was a yellow chevy something that sounded like he revved right up to 10,000 rpm before shifting...was running high eights ...would love to line up against him and ruin his evening....
