"Regular Fuel Engine" Decal???
Hi all,
Ames Performance sells a foil decal for the rocker cover of a 70 GTO.. "Regular Fuel Engine".. I like all these decals :-) but I've never seen this on any restored cars.. Is it correct, and if so, does it go in the same location as the "super duty" decal on later ponitacs? (rear portion of driver's rocker cover). It seems a little strange since 70 GTO's had chrome valve covers... this decal "clashes" somewhat. Thanks, Fred |

That decal would be incorrect on a '70 GTO anyway.
2V regular fuel GTO engine option ran for three years only, '67-'69.

Why would the "regular fuel engine" decal necessarily only apply to the 2v GTO's? Thanks |

Nope - back in that day "regular" fuel meant lower octane - i.e. NOT premium.
There was a little ordered regular fuel option available on '67-'69 GTO's. That engine was 8.6:1 compression vs. 10.75:1, and 2V vs. 4V, and available with the TH400 trans only.

Agree, those are correct for 70 Lemans 350 and maybe all 70's without factory chrome valve covers. I've seen several untouched 70's with these. There is one now on EBay --> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-...QQcmdZViewItem
