Default Summit Protorque Starter with Remote Solenoid

Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing how the Protorque starter is wired to a remote solenoid (also a Summit in this case). The starter did not come with instructions nor are the termoinals labeled.

Thanks,
Todd

The Protorque mini starter instructions had instructions to wire their switch wire up to and tie in with the switch on the remote solenoid. That would work, but I had never bothered to do that. I simply use a jumper wire at the starter tying the "S" terminal at the starter to the large cable terminal. Both are activated when the remote solenoid is triggered. The large cable goes up to either stud on the remote solenoid, the battery cable goes to the other stud, and the wire from the ignition switch start circuit goes to the remote solenoid "S" terminal. Works fine this way, but you could exactly follow their recommendation and things would work the same.

Thanks for the explanation, but on the Protorque starter I received, none of the terminals are labeled. The large terminal on the back of the drive has a heavy wire going to the solenoid. Do you have to remove that?

I just installed this same starter on my 62 GP. Don't remove the wire your talking about. The terminals are on the right side of the starter. The large cable terminal is copper colored(has a 12mm nut on it) and S terminal is the spade next to it(should have a allen screw in it).

Many thanks for straightening that out for me. I'll get it installed this weekend.
