Default summit false advertisement???

well i got the radiator today, its supposed to be 30" wide and its 26" wide. ive been waiting for a month for this thing to get in, what should i do send it back and get the 30" that i paid for or keep it? opinions need fast. Thanks.

I looked at the part number on the radiator manufacture site and sure engough the part numbers match, but only on the manufacture site it says 26" not the 30" that summit says. tell summit to fix it?

I think I would have said "misprint" instead of "false advertizement". Give them a call, I' m sure they will take care of it.

It may be advertised at full width (core and tanks) while the man. specs it at core width?

I picked up one of their GM universal and was as advertised but a litlle taller by about 1/2" or less. Someone must have made a mistake with picking the order as I heve never had a problem with them. They even sent me a new rad when UPS poked somthing through the shipping label they put on when they picked it up. It went right trough the core. Hard for UPS to deny that one but they still investagated it first. Called Summit and the rep. sent out a new rad before UPS did anything about the damage they did in shipping. Great service I'd say.

well i think i can stay with the one i got as it is about the identical size as the stock just that it is aluminum and aluminum dissipates heat better so it should keep it cool right?

o and also since i live in this sunny southern cali would you guys recommend I buy a 160 or 180 t-stat?

aluminum dosn't dissapate heat better then copper. it is, however, stronger then copper. allowing larger tubes, therefore more water to be cooled more quickly. i'd say you will be fine in the cooling department as long as every thing fits.

If you are unsure about the radiator call Summit and get the correct one. They will make it right with you. Summit has about the best customer service you will find anywhere. Jim

return it, first call their customer service number. let them know that its the wrong part, return it, and make them send you the one YOU want. they will not know they did something wrong unless you tell them. you are the customer. sometimes you can purchase the right one, and when they get the return they will credit you back for the first part. if you need it asap..... i got a set of tires from jegs, one had a defective sidewall. they reinbursted my shipping, and sent me another one asap. you waited a month.. whats a couple weeks more.. good luck....

You have to calculate the amount of solder used in a Copper rad and it's heat dissipation compared to the Copper. They use a ton of it and that's where they lose efficiency. All the newer cars went that route for a reason and seen an improvement over my factory 4 row Cu rad.

thanks for the support, but i doubt they will accept it i read the return policy and it says if it looks used they wont accept it. i already put on my e-fan and i think some of the fins might be bent so i dont think they will accept. I called them and yea i know they have great customer service the rep told me to send it back and he will re-order when they get mine, will they accpet mine still?

ill just keep it im pretty sure that 27 incher will be good. its not like i have 500hp. Well i bought a 160 temp t-stat today so maybe that will help. i konw 160 is low and some people argue that i need some heat, cause thats more power, but i live in cali its hot and when im driving in this 80-100 degree temp, the coolant/water will already be hot and hot air flowing through the radiator wont help so 160 is probsbly my best bet. now i need to buy a gauge so i actually know the temp. thanks guys.

does summit normally give $15 for the next purchase or is it cause i spent like $200?

How can it be the wrong one if its identical size? Would a larger one even fit?

Slow down a bit, be a little patient. If I were you I would take the extra time to get the radiator that you (ordered) wanted. Sure it will take longer but in the end you will be glad you waited. I am sure Summit will make the exchange and the will pay the extra shipping charges too if you ask them.
