65 goat fuel plumbin'
Hey folks, hoping somebody can save me from myself. Basically here's the deal - 65 goat, want to set it up for a holley HP150 fuel pump, 1/2 inch line. I'll be running a holley hp style carb so fuel bowl fittings on passenger side, but the original setup was driver's side. Should I:
a) buy 1/2 inch stock-type fuel line from someone like inline tube and just plumb it across to the other side of the car b) use braided stainless all the way and take it up the driver's side. Can you even use braided stainless the whole way? Is it flexible? |

On my 65 I replaced the stock 5/16 sending unit with a 3/8 unit (PY sells it)
ran HD hose 6inches to the pump & steel braided hose -8 up the drivers side over the timing chain cover to a duel inlet 750 Holley. Car has run a best of 11.51 @ 115.

Ok, thanks guys, I appreciate it. Esp that part about the 3/8 sending unit, I didn't know they had one, hopefully they'll take my 5/16 one back!

You may want to forget about the 3/8" pickup tube and put in a 1/2". If you need a lot of fuel, you can have some problems with too small of a p/u tube, including pump cavitation.
