I just installed my universal crossflow aluminum radiator purchased from Jegs for $179.00
I did it after work yesterday and it took only 2 hours. (I will be tidying things up latter but it is functional) Here are the photos from start to finish. |

Let me add a couple of notes before the questions start flying.....
I replaced the 65 water neck with a 66 wterneck to reach the radiator inlet on the drivers side. The lower radiator hose fit after I cut off about an inch at the water pump end. The upper hose was a hose from a 65 catalina reversed and cut to fit at both ends. ( I had to get around the alternator) The radiator set down nicely on the stock rubber supports. The stock upper support and fan guard holds the radiator just fine. (I will be changing this to a better modified top fan guard with 2 rubber holders, also from a 65 catalina) Universal Aluminum Radiator Chevy/GM Style 26" x 19" overall 20" x 17-1/2" core 555-51174 Last edited by Zimtok; 05-05-2006 at 11:29 AM. |

I was just wondering if the 66 tripower upper radiator hose would have worked?

The shroud is a near future project. (I'll probably have to make one)
Upper hose was what I had around, cut to fit. I don't know if a 66 hose will fit or not. The inlet that the hose connects to is lower on the crossflow side tank then it is on the downflow upper tank. . |
