Default Gear reccomendation

I have a 403 olds bored 30 over with 64cc heads, forged aluminum flat top pistons, .488/.496 mondello cam, edelbrock performer intake, and stock carb which is mounted to a TH-350 trans with a stock converter and a B&M shift kit. Right now I have a 2.41:1 gear ratio. I mostly drive this on the street. Anyone have any reccomendations for a new ratio? Looking to get a better launch than the 2.41. What would work the best with the power and torque converter that I have right now?

With Gas prices at 2.75 gal and sure to go up for the summer, I'd keep the 2.41 and stock converter.
What did Mondello say the RPM range of the Cam and Heads together are?
You would ultimately want your cruise RPM (60 mph) to be in the peak operating range of the cam and heads (valve size). Larger valves require smaller cam profiles to make similar power to a smaller valve and larger cam. Going large on the 2 will make the engine peak at higher rpm and going small on both will bring the peak in at lower rpm.

how tall are the tires............my guess from what you've said would be a 3.55 ratio..........huge improvement over the 2.41's......and it will be streetable.
