Default pre-oiler

I think I know the answer already, but will this pre-oiler work on my 400 Pontiac? It's probably for a small block Chebby me thinks. It's 10 1/8 inches long. Thanks, Jeff

Do you need the distributor case? Does it seal any oil passages? I used an old distributor and 1/2 inch drill, doesn't spin very fast in reverse, but I got pressure with it.

Thumbs up

That is indeed the correct oil pump priming tool for a Pontiac, Jeff.

You'll need a 1/2 reversible drill motor to spin it hard enough to do much good. Be sure and spin it counter-clockwise (reverse).

I've used mine on pontiacs, no problem.
Use a drill with a chuck that requires a key to tighten onto the shank of the tool.
Those hand-tighten chucks are worthless at spinning over a oil pump submerged in oil.

Awesome, thanks all. I was hoping I didn't have to buy another one time use tool. And I do recall the reserve rotation. Again, mucho gracias, Jeff
