e-brake handle
How do you take the old one off? Cut?

It screws off, but many times it's on so tight that you'll bend the heck out of the rod trying to get it off. If that is the case, cut through the plastic parallel to the rod being careful not to damage the threads on the rod. One cut on each side should allow you to unscrew it without any problem.
