Default Brake Release Handle

Is there a trick to removing an old e-brake release handle so I can replace it?
I am about to get the dremmel out.

What car? You talking about the end of the cable where its fastened to the e-brake pedal? If so, you will have to pry the metal tabs apart to get the cable out.
I dont know if the handle itself can be replaced...........at least on a 2nd gen Firebird. I replaced the whole assembly on mine(handle and cable).
