Killer.....!
That is, by far, the baddest '68 I have ever seen! I was considering a "Bobcat" '69 ragtop, as I have a correct '69 XF 4-bolt 428/370 hp engine ready to go. It's originally a 2-bbl car. If I have Milt Schornack personally set the engine in it, will it be a real one? Seriously, nice ride.

Shark.. No one could've said it better - you're right... it is the baddest 68!!!!
That's cool about your car... I've been entertaining that same idea for the last 10 years... mine is a ragtop as well.... Unless you know him as a friend (wish I did!!) it might be tough to get Milt to do the engine drop for you though, as he has hit the retirement road. He's spending his days now playing with his new toy, a replica of the 66 Royal race car he's building... According to son Jim, he wants to just do his own thing now... can't blame him... he's been at it for over 40 years... I emailed Jim a week ago and he told me he's trying to get more pics of the car up on their website. I'm waiting for Milt's book by Keith MacDonald to come out... will be interesting to see how his version of things compares to Wangers... |

Nice ride.
What colors are those? Personally, I'd lose the chrome rocker panel trim. But I guess you have too much $ in those wheels to go with a more fully original look anyway. Best of both worlds? Sweet. Chris

My69...
Yes, he is a personal friend. In fact, my son went up and stayed a few days with Milt to help hang the exhaust, among other things, on the '66. I would have no problem enlisting his help and probably getting a signed receipt with the Royal Bobcat insignia, which, I believe he owns the rights to. Couldn't keep him FROM working on our '64 at Norwalk. As for the book, interesting is not the word. as Mr. W has already sent his lawyers once...to no avail, I might add. Notice how they are never seen speaking to each other. Even at the tech seminars, Milt sat as far away as possible. He's a great guy, loves the hobby and knows his Pontiacs.

More pix. Including a shot of the 1972 TO and 1986 Buick Grand National (in the background). Engine build data sheet in the next post.
Just installed a Modine 75,000 btu Hot Dawg Garage Furnace. Heated my 750 sq.ft. 3.5 garage to nearly 80 degrees from 45 degrees in about 20 minutes. Will be a nice warm winter! |

Royal,
The stance on your car looks great. What are the specs on the coil springs you used? Mike |
