Default Like a good mystery? Read this... :)

This cam came out of a 1970 400ci with #16 small chamber (72cc), small valve (1.96/1.66) heads. It doesn't seem to have the usual factory stamp on either end of the cam. As such, I assume it's an aftermarket cam? The numbers/letters are:

Towards the rear: 159 and then C F D
Front of cam: 537 441, then a 7 a few lobes down

I'd like to sell it along wth some other parts but would first like to know the specs and/or the manufacturer so I can go do some digging. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jim.

The numbers cast or stamped into the blank usually don't mean much, they were probably put there by the blank manufacturer, not the cam grinder. Look for identifying marks stamped into the ends of the cam, usually more helpful in identifying it. Good luck selling any used cam, especially one that looks like that...

I noticed the CFD is also stamped on my transmission on the bell housing and am wondering if it was a BOP corporate part # thingy.

Thanks guys, 'ppreciate it...

Will,

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing re it's condition. Not being an expert, it looks worn and "burnt" to me (especially that one lobe in the bottom pic). Yes? If so, I'll just recycle it...

Thanks,

Jim.
