I'm looking for an ignition switch for my 65 catalina because the wire terminals on mine are shot, bit I'm having the hardest time finding one. I did notice however that this site has one for fullsize 66 models and I'd like to know if this would work and if it won't where I might be able to find one.Somebody's got to make one!? Thanks for the help!

looks like D1462 was a 1965 full size part for only that year, so it would not be the same as the 1966 full size.

I have one that was going to be a back up for my 66 2+2 but in light of the post above and getting a 66 parts car you are welcome to the 65 switch. It came out of a 65 ventura that I parted out years ago. I will dig out the box and confirm it's there. Dave K.

I have the switch with the key. The switch works, but the cylinder comes out of the housing. I can't figure out how it locks in place should be minor fix. Send me an e-mail with your address. When you get it, check it out, if it's OK just send me back shipping charges. Dave K.

Jeff, the AC, non AC thing doesn't apply to 65 or 66.
65 is a 659 and 66 is a 675 (the last 3 #'s of the GM #).
