I'm probably going to buy a Pypes 2.5" x pipe system to replace the 2.25" system on my 455 powered Lemans. I see they advertise a Street Pro muffler. Does anyone know how that might compare to a Super Turbo, which I'm running now? I like it because I get a good sound but it doesn't make me want to jump out of the car and doesn't wake the neighbors! Thanks

The superturbo is a stamped construction muffler. Very quiet sound for such a good performance muffler. The StreetPro is a welded performance muffler and since it is a chambered design muffler it has no packing and will have a more aggressive sound. An 18" version of the muffler will lower the tone but still not to the level of the dynomax super turbo. They both flow about the same. If you are set on the DMST then I would suggest ordering a Pypes 'muffler delete' system from PY and add a pair of the super Turbos or reuse your originals if they are still good.

The UltraFlows are a welded muffler like the StreetPro but internally they are a 'straight thru' muffler filled with sound deadening material around the perforated pipe that passes thru the center. Excellent for higher hp motors(400-450+) and again, slightly quieter and less aggressive sounding than the StreetPro. The Pypes RacePro is more comparable to the UltraFlow.
