Could it be your throttle shaft?

It sounds to me that you have fuel percolating in your carburetor.

What happens is the fuel in your fuel bowls is boiled by heat soak from the engine after the motor is shut off. The engine temp actually climbs some before it cools. The fuel rises from the bowls, into the boosters and drips onto the throttle blades, where it then leaks through the throttle shaft and onto your intake.

I would also bet that your garage smells like gas!

The remedy? One of two things, or both!

#1 Try lowering your float level some, if you are running a Holley, lower it two flats at a time.

#2 Install a thermal barrier type spacer, gasket, or heat shield that will help block the heat from the intake.

These two areas should eliminate you fuel puddles on your intake!

There's really nothing you can do about the wet spot. You'll just have to ask her to scoot over a few inches.
