I've had my 66 Ventura 2-dr hardtop for three years with no major headaches. The other day, a worn bearing worked its way out of the race in the lower steering shaft assembly - CRUNCH CRUNCH - after a cursory search for the part from some steering specialists (I have no part number) I was told that an after-market replacement was not available. Anyone crossed this bridge before? What's the best route to take? Even a part no. would be helpful.

Pretty sure it's not the rag joint. You can see metal shavings hanging out the dust cap on the lower assembly. Still driving, though - for now. I don't want to take down the column until I find a part. I will check eBay some more. There's nothing now.

Anyone else ever replaced steering shaft bearings?
