What are you using for a fuel system and what is the pressure set at? And of course your floats aren’t set too high right?

Sounds like you have things sorted out up to now. You may have a problem in the needle and seat(s) or maybe using the wrong gasket behind the power valve. But before you put any more money into anything I would see if you could barrow a carb to rule out anything else in the fuel system. Also what vacuum are you pulling at idle, pick a value one size lower than you lowest number if you haven’t already done so.

thanks for the reply, every thing you have mentioned i have done, and is correct, i am starting to lean toward the high duration of the cam and the single plane mainfold, could this be a problem with fuel mixture intake pulse ?

Spacer plates can be a problem. I quite running my 1" plate with my torquer-2, but I was running lean. Sometmes you get turbulents with spacers. I kept changing pumps and presure gages, till I got it right. Most presure gages suck.
High duration and a single plane is not a problem.

...would usually suggest "try a Q-Jet and see if the problem goes away" LOL, but not this time.

My only real suggestion:
Close down the throttle plates and try to get the idle from the idle circuits.

Then work the Accel pump cam with the Jetting to re-achieve super off-idle romps.

I assume that you are running strong, and hope the performance is not at the expense of running so rich that you're fouling up.

thanks guys for the reply, i have worked with different spacers and no spaces, did not help, also checked the idle now the plate are almost closed , idle screws are out appox 1 turn, have drilled holes in throttle plate to help chive a good idle,as of the last set of plugs i had a fairly clean idle, good response, no smoke, ran strong,

Hmmmm, sounds like progress.

Let's open the can of worms: So, how;s the clenliness of the distributor advance weights?....and the slop in the return springs??...so, does the timing at idle come back to a predictable 12degrees or does it float around?

I'm gonna wonder what the idle vacuum is doing at this rate (now) because the Primary mixture should be all over the place, considering the fix was to shut-down the throttle plates. Good news is you are dialing the crab in nicely. So, study the timing behavior while running the Carb bellcrank to 300RPM and back to idle. Keep trying to lower the idle and observe your idle timing.

Sorry, but welcome to the next level.

the vacumn reading at idle is 10.5 consistent, timing comes back to intial setting , i am running 18degree timimg initial with soft springs in the dist weiughts , could this be a problem, maybe stonnger springs less initial timing? might try that saturday, how about plug heat range? i keep moving to a hotter plug, now have a champion plug that is hotter than an ac45, could i be running to hot a plug that is breaking down fron a lean mixture , wqhen i pull then out and they are wet calling this a gas foul problem, what would colder plugs do?
