Besides VFN (the best) what other companies out there are producing fiberglass body parts for 65 GTO's? How is this company? http://www.texastransams.com/parts/fiberglass.htm

Thanks

and you might try Glass Tek (sp) at 630-978-9897.

i have purchased from us body and fiberglass trends, albeit a few years ago. The fenders i got from FTrends were of very poor quality, no gel coat mediocre at best. I purchased a whole nose from US body and was very impressed with quality and fitment. However, the delivery date was a month longer than originally stated. That was a few yrs ago, maybe thinks are quicker at this time

Looking to lighten the front for some major wheel stands this year Phil? After doing mine, kinda wishing I would have taken off some of the stock metal(especially since mine is a clone).

Yea Hooter, I figure a bumper and a hood for this car. Sometime over next winter I'll paint them and install.
I'm also actually toying with the idea of building a straight axle 65. Doing a little homework right now, saving sources in special files etc...
I've wanted to do one for a long time, even before they were in vogue. Glass nose, cage 60's paint scheme. I'd love to find an old Tempest roller. They're even drawing more coin these days.

Didn't a guy named Hermman have fiberglass hood and fenders on his 71 or 72 GP?

www.glasstek.com out of IL.

I have a bolt on fiber hood and trunk for my GN from them and my body shop said they were nice pieces. They look nice finished but then again, the paint sure does help.

I am going to do the nose, hood and trunk sometime in the next 2-3 years. The fenders are tempting considering I need to weld the lower patch in again from rust.

I bet you can drop off around 200lbs with a fiber nose, hood, fenders and a trunk on this sled.

I have a VFN glass nose on my 70 GTO. Very good fit and finish quality. For a hood, I went with the Glasstek bolt on GTO hood (with the light springs). I have not put the hood on yet, so I cant speak to fit, but the build quality looks good.

Tom, how did you mount the bumper? Do you have any pics? Is it so delicate you can't lean on it, or is it still strong. Thanks, Mark.

Mark,
The glass nose is fairly stout. I lean on it a little when Im bending over the front end to work under the hood and havent damaged it. We cut the centers out of the factory brackets, glassed some studs onto the nose and hung it on the front end. We added mount points to the front of each fender to draw it up. Turned out good and dropped a lot of weight (~80#). The hood should remove about 40# more. My PC is kaput right now, but Ill be back online next week sometime (Im writing this at work). I can send you pics. E-mail me and I will reply.
