Can anyone confirm absolutely that a '17' head is 72cc? I have been going underthat impression, then I saw info that said it is 80cc.

thanks

The 17 head is a low compression head. I would say it's at least 80 cc's.

The 18 head on the other hand is probably close to the 72 cc's.

The 17 heads are about 75cc, based on the 2 sets I have. Having the heads in question CC'd is the only way to find out for sure. But mine had 9:1 compression in a .060 350. Ran pretty well for a stock rod, cast piston engine.

No matter what 72-85 is small chamber for a Pontiac head. 92-121 is alot more the norm for the 70-77 stuff.
