Hey guy's, my 68 Goat speedometer is jumping back and forth about 5-10MPG and making a chicking noise, that is the best way to describe the noise. Ho w do I take the speedometer out to oil or replace the cable? Does it come out forward towards the driver?
Under the dash its a pain in the A**.

Thanks for your help.

Reach up to the speed and undo the cable from the head, then pull the complete cable out of the casing.I just clean it and work white lube into it,then slide it back in.

There's a metal clip around the head of the cable that has to be pressed down to release the cable....and "Yes" its a PITA to crawl up under the dash!
