Whats a good rpm to cruise at, for about one hour.
That would be safe for my engine.
455,TRW forged pistions
stock stage two rods
292 compcam.
is 3000 rpm's too much.

A 455 will no problem handle 3000 RPMs for an hour. As long as you keep the piston speed under 2500 feet per minute (or under 3560 RPM) it will be happy.

The engine can probably handle it. But can your ears? My goal with all my street cars is to get the cruise rpm at 70mph down to about 2000.
