I have a demon carb on my 64 catalina. I had to add a 1/2 inch riser to clear some fittings, etc. The riser is not metal but one of those composite brown one. I have noticed that it(the riser) looks like it soaking up gas (it's turning brown/damp) on the corners where the carb hold down studs go. When it sits for a some time the riser drys out. Should I be concerned? What could be causing this? I have snugged down all the bolts. BTW, I have had this problem/issue for about two years and am just curious if this is normal.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds to me like your dripping raw gas down your intake. Is it just the front or front & back? I would check your float levels first. Then check your float bowl screws might be leaking on the outside and you can't see it.
