I have a 65 catalina, but when I bought the car there was no evidence that it had a shroud on it compared to my 69 that I had once owned. If it did come with one from the factory are they hard to come by? who sells aftermarket shrouds?

They did come with them. It may have been an option or maybe standard with A/C. I may have one in my junk yard if you can't find a new one. email me. Steve www.pontiacheaven.org

Usually if you ordered the Heavy duty cooling option it had the shroud.
Air cars came with them standard.
It's no problem adding it to your car.

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

Fan shrouds were optional on all 65's, but most cars came without. You would get one if you have A/C, or HD radiator, or Super Cooling radiator...the last being a 4 core setup. If you get a shroud, make sure that you get the lower brackets that it sits on. The brackets bolt onto the core support, and the shroud bolts onto the brackets. Also, change over to a clutch style 7 blade fan, it won't rob as much HP as a solid 4 blade.
