With early 2nd-gen CRAPmaro's now having reproduction quarters and tail panels its only a matter of time before Firebirds do. NOS 70-73 Firebird quarters are now bringing in $1500-$2000 PER SIDE! Thats a pretty hot commodity for the venders to ignore.

Complete, fullsized Camaro quarters are under $400.00 per side!!
I sure hope we get to be the receipiants (sp?) of all this new metal.
Did you see the drop offs? Are they the same for Firebird and Camaro?

I put on trunk extensions from a 70-73 camaro. I believe that is the same as a drop off. They fit o.k and the wheelwell butted nicely.

These guys carry some cool stuff. I've been told a lot of the resto companies get there sheet metal from these guys. There based in Atlanta. I went by once and looked at the 70-73 1/4 panel. It seemed ok to me but I'm not a body guy. I'm planning to buy new 1/4s for both sides on the 70.

I'm curious.....other than different tail light cutouts, is there a chance that the tail light panel is otherwise the same for the Camaro as for the Firebird??

The repro '70 1/2-73 Camaro tailpanel has been out at least 5 years. The lower section of the repro Camaro tailpanel cannot be used on the Firebird. Bought a rustfree early 2nd Gen Firebird rolling shell off a vendor friend close to 5 years ago, & took a repro Camaro tailpanel out of his showroom & outside to my cartrailer, did some measuring & compared them both... no where close.

Agree that the tailpanel should be reproduced. Have also heard rumors it was being worked on
As far as full 1/4's go, we already have junk hip 1/4's, do we really need ill fitting junk full 1/4's for 3 times the price??? No thanks.

OPH,how do you tell a 'good' full 1/4 from a 'bad' one?

I have a set of full 1/4's that I've had for about 20 years.(and fenders)

Is there an easy way or just have to match up and measure?

I got them in a trade for racing parts and never used them yet.

Pete-
I bought the rear tail panel from a camaro. It was totally different like OPH said. I wanted the lower piece but that was wrong also. I sent it back for a refund. I ended up finding a used one, but had to skim coat it the whole way.
