Any one have pictures of the braces installed? I received them today (PY part number RPU80) but am not sure of where the go or how they are positioned on my 64. No instructions included so I assume it is a simple operation but if there is a wrong way to do it I WILL find it. Thanks Keith

I may be old but do I have to grow up?

I don't have pictures, but they attach to the front bolts of the upper and lower control arms. You should be able to just lay one in to verify how it goes in. There is a right side and a left side, they are not the same.

I assume they go inboard the control arms. Is there an up or down? Keith

Yes, they go inboard, and yes there is an up and down.

If you get totally baffled, post it here. If so, I will try to get a picture of mine sometime over the weekend. To show the benefit of these reinforcements, the first set I took out had almost ripped out the front mounting hole. I now weld reinforcements around the holes. My application has been on two 10-second cars.

Thanks Jim, I got under the car today and held them up but it looks like there are two ways they could go in and I'm sure I'll find the wrong one. I don't subject the car to any racing forces other than opening up the trips on the street pnce in a while ( if some ricer is trying to play with me), but I found some hairline cracks in the rear crossmember. I'm going to clean them up and weld them and I thought it would be wise to add the braces. I have some lift time a week from monday so I'll do it then because trying to remove the bolts on the control arms after 39+ years is a little tough laying on your back. Thanks again for any help you can provide. Keith

The "K" members are prone to cracking where the upper control arms are attached. I always weld steel straps around that area in an attempt to preclude cracking.

If you still need it, pull this post up on Sunday morning and I will take a picture of my installation. I won’t be home tomorrow.

Put the brackets on this morning. Took about 45 minutes. Up on lift with a impact wrench made it a hell of a lot easier. Thanks to "Old Man Taylor" and "Jarhead" for the guidance. Car feels a lot tighter also. Thanks again guys. Keith
