I'm in the process of puting the engine and tranny in in one piece I need to install the pilot bearing and the clutch and transmission tonight! My question is when I stake the bearing am I supposed to do it to the fly wheel or the out side of the bearing.

thanks

Niether!! Stake the crankshaft flange just outside the pilot bearing only enough to hold the bearing. Be careful not to slip and smash the bearing race.
