I have had mine since the mid 80's.
Holding up well still has the original paint.
Casters had to be changed, other then that I would buy another in a flash.
Cheers.

Depends on how much you want to spend... there is a model line with drawers that use slide rails and another model line that use ball bearings in the rails for smooooth opening and closing.

Run by your local Sears and pick up one of their tool catalogs, there are numerous pages worth of tool storage chests with all sorts of storage options.

I don't have any, but check out Lowe's, the have some storage chests and might be competively priced with similar features.

Basically all a matter of $$$ and what type of and how much storage you desire.

I would stay with the ball bearing slide models. The cheapo's are sticky when you load them full of tools.

Pretty sure Craftsman are made by Waterloo, as are most of the other brands out there.

I was over in lowes' today. They have a line of boxes (Kolbolt I think) and they looked like some nice stuff. Prices where fair.
You may want to check them out.
Cheers.

I was told by a Snap-On dealer that the Lowes Kobalt line is so well made because there is a "connection" between the two companies.

Very nice and come in a variety of colors. I had mine in my living room of my appartmetn for a while cause it was the closest room to the front door where my parking spot is. I bought a TV though and had to move it to the kitchen.

I've had Sear's tool boxes in my garage for years. While I'm no professional they have lasted for a very long time. My oldest set was purchased in 1988. Still in pretty good shape. Even after I dropped it, still full, while moving it to my current home 11 years ago . My second one was purchased in 1993 also in pertty good shape. My third set was recently purchased in February as a birthday gift from my fiance. All three of my roller cabnet tool box setups are not their top of the line sets either. They are probably in the bottom/middle third of their sets. My older sets still have all the original castors on them too. I'd go down tomorrow and buy another set with out a second thought.

Kobalt is built by Snap-on but not at the same plant that builds the "Snap-on" brand. It is made at their industrial subsidiary JH Williams in GA. Still, fantasic quality stuff!

I've got Craftsman AND Sears toolboxes that came from my grandfather. Still in good shape.

I have had my Craftsman Tool Box upper and lower for over twenty five years and they are still in great shape. Got a bug up my butt several years ago and painted them Snap on Red. They were that ugly Gray
