newkid, it just doesnt seem to go with lines of the car, I cant even bring myself to put one on my 63 and it was a semi factory option
I have the factory style scoop but its really hard to breakup the fine line of the hood so the scoop is still on the shelf.
Maybe I'll do it some day.
On a 65? I just dont think that would work stylistically. Ive seen a few race only 65s with a scoop but thats a different thing. On the other hand, its your car and you should customize it to make you happy not others!

I saw this red 65 Cat on e-bay a while back with a shaker scoop on it. Sometimes different is just that, different.

Looks much better than what I was visualizing. I was visualizing a '65 GTO or '68 Z-28 type scoop.

That cat was done a while back by a friend in the Badger chapter P.O.C.I.
Nice car.

IT looks ok..Im just trying to think out of the box thats all. You are right it doesnt really go along with the lines of the car, but its not 100% gastly looking just different. I have seen pics of these cars there and there and they are just bone stock looking. Just want something a lil different.

this might be another silly question but why do they call 2=2s..2+2? I know the option comes with the tri power package but what does the 2+2 badge stand for?

2+2 refers to the seating arrangement.

2 up front plus 2 out back.

That's all the 2+2 badge stands for.

Ugh, leave it the way it is. If you want it to be different, make it fast as hell.

The '65 and '66 big cars have such wild styling I think it's hard to come up with body modifications that will improve their looks. I've seen photos of a couple with chopped tops that were kind of interesting, but that's a pretty major modification.

Just my two cents.

I put a early super duty, Ford style scoop on my 68 GP and it looked good. I have seen some with the Chevy style scoop that was shapped into the arrow shape of the hood. Seen it on a 68 Bird and looked awsome. If any one wants to see a pic of the scoop on my GP check out the link.

I know the scoop is out but were there any striping kits that were factory for the 65/66 cats?

I know all to well about the ramairbox...make sure you get the dimensions right when you order one or you wont be able to close the hood. Its a good option though. Not to familiar with the engine compartment of the 65 but looks like you should be able to extend both snorkels to each of the radiator if there is room..That front grill looks like it will let ini a ton of fresh air if there spots behind it are open and free flowing.

I've seen and talk to a guy who has a 66 ventura with the gto judge style scoops. Not a bad looking deal. It looked like they cut out the center of both hoods and combined the two. I was thinking about a 66 67 gto scoop for my 66 grand prix. Thought it may look good if done right.
