I just got my 455 back from the machine shop and I want to get some opinions on it before I start to build it.
Here is what I have: 455 bored .040 over (465 CI) '46' heads with a 3 angle valve job, comp 995 dual valve spring, stock rockers and with roughly 9.7:1 CR CC XE274 cam and hyd. lifters Reconditioned stock rods with ARP bolts and KB pistons Stock crank, grinded and indexed. Edelbrock Performer intake Edelbrock 750cfm electric choke I have a TH350 with a 2200 stall and 3.08 in the rear. Also any HP guesses or 1/4 times?

With the tune dialed-in and adequate traction, it should be capable of solid mid-12's. That is, of course, "corrected to sea-level" times!
I've seen some slightly milder combos run low-12's, with some really good tuning & driving. I'm guessing that you'll use some good headers & exhaust system. Lee

73 Firebird, Nice set up . I live in Roy, Utah and have a 67 GTO with a stroked 400 in it. Email me if you want to compare cars and talk Pontiacs sometime. Mike gto67cpe@aol.com

Thanks for the response Lee. I forgot to mention I'm running Doug's coated headers and have the Pypes 2.5" X system.
67gtocpe: Hey it's nice to see another Utahn on here. Too bad my car is down in Spanish Fork or you could see it (if it ran). I work up on the Army reserve center up in Ogden. Maybe I could stop by sometime and check out your car. I'm still an extreme beginner so maybe you could teach me the Pontiac ways. Morty4@hotmail.com
