Hello:

I was planning to install a new PY wiring harness but some of the original wires have been cut or burnt -- there's only about six colour wires and the alt. wire is thicker, can anyone help out with the other colours (ieil pressure, water temp, rpm???)

thanks

I think I understand what you are asking. The best way to sort that out for any car is to have the service manual for that specific year and model.

Typically, all of the wiring schematics are there. They will show connections, termination points and the color codes on the wiring. That will give you the information you need. The service manual is a must have investment for many other reasons as well.

yes thanks, and i agree its a good investment. I just was planning to complete the wiring this weekend, but didn't think it was going to be such a mess under the hood--so i just thaught i'd ask for some help in here as the book's going to take a week and i know some people in here could answer this one in their sleep.... till later

From what I can see in my shop manual they are as follows:
oil Pressure: DK. BLUE
WATER TEMP: DK GREEN
Starter: Purple
+ Coil:BLK. Pink STR.

Hope this will get you started.
