How would one do this. Hood is from 73 Grandville and has a slight crease on one side probably only 10-14" wide. Probably from rusty hinges or something...anyway, how do you fix these, or do you toss them in the scrap pile??

The problem with repairing hoods is that if it's creased from a bad hinge it will have a tendency to crease there again. Hoods are designed to fold a certain way in accidents and no amount of repair short of welding braces will help.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that too. I guess it would be smarter to find a good hood, rather than fix the old one. I wouldn't want to put 5000 square feet of paint on it just to fold it again!!

It is possible to repair that hood, and have it function properly.
Send me a good digital pic of both the outer damage, and inner damage. I'll let you know the best way to fix that particular damage. There's a couple of different way's to repair this type of damage. But I can't really tell you which way to go, until I actually see the pic. Marty

Marty, thanks. I'll have to scan pics since I have no digital camera. I now might just part this car out however due to some money/time/storage issues. I'm still courious how to fix it though.
