Default any interesting things to do in tampa area?

I`m down here this week...in the clearwater area, perhaps going down to marco island too. Car related stuff would be cool.

There is a Liberty Ship near the aquarium that is kind of cool if you have never seen one, which I am sure you have.

Some cool members there. Seeing Jim & his son's 66 Cat hook up on the track would have to be the best possible thing you could do down there. 'em boys is right frenly too.

There are several classic/muscle car dealers in that area. One right on the main drag coming into to Clearwater from Tampa and one that is north in Tarpon Springs. I'm sure you can find them and more with google's help. Your wife would probably enjoy Tarpon Springs. It's known for sponge diving and sponge markets and has a strong Greek influence. Also, try the Island Way Grill for dinner.

The first time my wife, kid and I went down on vacation, we spent 5 days in Clearwater at the Sandpearl and then went to Marco for 4 days. We haven't been back to Marco since, but have been to Clearwater several times. I guess it depends on what your tastes are, but I would recommend digging in at Clearwater and staying put.

If you want a recommendation for a fishing guide let me know. I've been taking customers down there to fish for the past few years.

Enjoy yourself, I'm jealous.

-Musclecar City in Punta Gorda (south of Clearwater - about 100 miles down I-75)

Don't get stuck in any sink holes in Tampa. Man got sucked right out of his bedroom today.

Was there in November. Didint like it. Love Clearwater though.

Sandpearl was excellent. Thats where we stayed. Didint stray far from the hotel since we were only there four days.

That sinkhole situation is about 10 miles from my house. We have plenty of sinkhole activity in Florida, but that Seffner one is just plain strange.

Years ago when they were building the Crosstown Expressway upper deck, one of the main supports went down into a sinkhole and collapsed the deck:

its like something out of a horror movie

we had a large sinkhole swallow up a few businesses in downtown Winter Park many years ago.
One was a foreign car shop that donated a few Porsches.
