Unhappy Yep...

one of the greats!!! Back when custom car builds were a bit more than big wheels and a two-tone paint job. Definately a visionary pioneer. RIP Mr. B.

Was he the one that built the Monkee's car? Wasn't it built on a GTO chassis?

Dean Jeffries built the Monkeemobile, but in later years Barris owned it and took credit for it Jeffries was never happy about that.

RIP George.
Here is a Pontiac that George built for a singing contest in 1968. It belongs to a friend. Superteen Firebird.

He was the King of Kustoms.

A great promoter, he did more for the custom car world than anyone, ever.

He lived a great life doing what he loved, he would have been 90 years old on November 20th.

Rest in peace George.

I love his work. People really should be building things like how he and many others did back then, those were real customs!

RIP

He did the Munster Koach and the Batmobile.

RIP Mr. Barris.

Note - Dean Jeffries actually started the Batmobile, but it was turned over to George Barris to complete.

Dean Jeffries "did" the Monkeemobile and Black Beauty for the Green Hornet.

This is Casper's Ghost, built by Carl Casper. It had a 1957 Pontiac engine, and won the AMBR (America's most beautiful roadster) trophy in 1965.

I know he wasn't shy about signing stuff, but when my friend's shop restored the Monkeemobile a few years ago my friend got him to sign this for me.

I've often thought about getting Wangers to sign it too so I could have the signatures of one guy who wanted to take credit for it but didn't actually build it and one who wanted nothing to do with it
