Could also be high carbon build up from the dual quads. A bit of Dextron down the throats while the neighbors are sound asleep might clear it out.

Also the cc’s of the adapter (as compared to the installed spark plug) can add a subtract a few tenths from the ratio.

Probably not your style, but would look good with some Rally IIs on it!

FYI there is an NOS AC fuel pump on eBay right now.
Your original pump is probably fine !! Don't fix it if it's not broken ?? Link to eBay Pump |

These are my go-to wheel covers for 69-70, love that "poor man's" Rally wheel look. This car was built with them but I'm putting a set on my LeMans Safari wagon too.
They aren't valuable but they are a bear to find, they just weren't installed on many cars. Unlike the six spoke deluxe wheel covers they cover the whole wheel (the deluxe leave the last half inch of the rim visible, giving the look of 13" wheels).

The Kraco 8-Track tape player works (it only has the factory dash speaker - no rears, so not very hi-def)! John Denver never sounded so tinny.

Kraco made mono and stereo 8 tracks. If you used the stereo version but didn’t hook up a second speaker to the other output you’d burn out the diodes within an hour. Of course if you didn’t have a speaker there you’d never know you burned them out.
My executive 4 door sedan had the same 8 track, the original owner installed it in 69. I don’t like the look of aftermarket stuff so I removed it but to honor the 8-track history I added a factory 8 track to replace it.

North, I never knew that about 8-Track players available in mono or stereo...learn something new every day. BTW, your Lemans Hdtp is flat out sweet!

Same with stereo radios back then, they needed the 10 ohms of resistance on both the front and rear tracks to prevent the diodes from burning out.
GM never offered a mono 8 track but a lot of the aftermarket portables were mono along with some aftermarket car ones. The problem with the mono units is that you were only listening to half the song, depending on the song you might or might not notice it much. That LeMans 4dr hardtop is a sweetie, got it from the original owner in Eugene Oregon about 5-6 years ago. About 69k miles and the 100% original interior is like new. Never had any rust or hits but it has a cheap repaint from the 80’s. Looks better in photos. Option wise it’s a bit on the high end of typical for the era with Cordova top, PS, PDB, 350 2bbl, TH400, AC, FM radio, reverb, clock, remote mirror, deluxe belts etc. That car has given me respect for the run of the mill cars of the time. Despite being a regular fuel 2bbl engine and 2.56 gears it’s a joy to drive. Effortless around town acceleration and throttle response. Honestly it’s probably more responsive up to about 3,000 rpm than a Qjet equipped engine with the same gears. The only way it lets you down compared to a high perf engine is high speed acceleration or passing uphill on a mountain road or something. Ride is soft yet stable, just a very pleasant driving car.
