Anyone seen this 70 Firebird Formula on E-Pay? Atoll blue with black interior.
To bad its not a four speed car. https://www.ebay.com/itm/27538038268...QAAOSwYF5iyee~

that car needs ALOT of work, and appears to be a pretty standard configuration for the model year;
(base) 400/4bbl
automatic
no gauge options (speedo, fuel gauge and warning lights)
air conditioning
standard interior
console

Curiously it's been mis listed as a 1974, but the vin is clearly 1970.

The real clincher on this one, is just how rough of shape it appears to be in.
If I were in your shoes, I'd really want to see it in person before any bidding - otherwise you might be opening yourself up to a whole lot of headache.

Yep - needs a ton of work. The BIN price seems a bit ambitious. But on the bright side it appears to still have its original open face alternator. So that's one expensive part that's normally long gone that a future restorer won't have to chase down

Yup...needs lots of work but still its a complete car... assuming that it has the original trans and 12 bolt what would be a fair offer?

Ill add, Its Odd that it is in place because all the brackets for the Alt And PS are wrong and a miss match put together. I doubt it lines up correctly.
Of Note, and usually ordered was Hidden wipers, Power brakes.

IF I had the ambition to do another, AND the sheet metal was available, the Most this car is worth is 6K, and 90% of that is under the hood.
You can be sure it needs frame rails, so better get the whole length pan with frames to get started.
This car would easily COST , Even if you did ALL the metal work yourself , 20K More than its worth to restore TO a number "2" car.
Obviously the Owner is a FLIPPER tugging on dreams of the next owner who lets it sit. Why isnt this car in Nebraska with the 71 Trans am?>
OH, I bet it ends up there at "restore a musclecar"
I have bought a couple Georgia cars....... ..........
Would be a great conversation piece, and that's why people keep them for the stories and the dreams..

I have observed that the recessed wipers are generally on loaded cars - so it's almost a 50/50 for recessed vs regular wipers on the early Formulas;
But I'm assuming you watch this closer than me...

I totally missed the manual brakes - I don't seem to recall seeing that very often.

I'd kinda like to drive a non-PS & non-PB car just to see what it's like as a comparison point...

Having owned a 71 Formula and a 70 Esprit Both with no PS or PB, and both 4 speeds, I can tell you that driving isnt too bad, but parking, well.. Parallel parking is Not an option with any sort of time limit.
You Rarely see a manual steering car after 1973 due to radial tires and alignments for road crown making it even harder to steer. Obviously NO Formula steering wheel either.

Tough one to pin a price to. For my money, I'd be parting this one out for mainly the drivetrain (assuming it's all original). Even the air cleaner is beat up!

Did you notice the seller carefully blacked out the last digits in the pic of the VIN plate and then typed it in full in the description. The things that make you go "hmmmmmm".
