64 Restoration getting close
The body is almost ready to go back on the chassis. Running gear is all in and waiting. We mocked up the core support and fired it up today for the first time. I wanted to attach a short video to show the Pypes exhaust with DynoMax VT mufflers and the exhaust cutouts but I need to figure that one out. I guess I need to post it elsewhere. Sweet sound! No clatter from the valves in the muffler.

Sweet! Why is the core support white?

It's gray Primer/filler over epoxy. We haven't done the final sand and paint yet, but we couldn't wait to fire her up.

That's an absolutely beautiful dust cover on the bellhousing, LOL.

Yeah it sure is! I wonder where we got that? Oh yeah, some guy named Bob. By the way Bob, I made a pattern from it for future reference. We may have to make some of those up.

We set the body back on today! Now for final blocking. We painted the trunk while it was on the rotisserie so we could get to all the nooks and crannies. I'm just glad the hard work is done.

Great progress!! Just a reality check--you're not nearly done. Mine looked like yours two years ago. In February, I'll finally be putting the grilles and front bumper on. You may already know, but it's amazing how much time the interior, wiring, detailing takes.

Dick, we hope to have it ready for our club's annual Picnic in the Park show in July, and then for our Muscle car Meet in August.
Tempest, I showed that picture on purpose so all can see where we lifted the body. The trunk was the 3 piece set plus the 2 extra 64 only pieces. We did it while on the rotisserie, one piece at a time so the body didn't get tweeked. |

Good luck. You've got a lot of work ahead of you.

Thanks, it seems to never end. I blocked the top and one of the new quarter panels today. Tomorrow we hang the doors to be sure everything lines up and I'll block the other quarter and doors, then another coat of 2K for final blocking. Long way to go.
