Body mount bolt torque
Does anyone know if there is a specific torque the body mount bolts are suppose to be set at? This is a 64 but it's probably the same as others. An assembly manual would help but I guess there aren't any to be had. I searched and only one post said 40 ft. lbs. just double checking. Also isn't #3 rubber supposed to be thinner and the bolt shorter? The aftermarket set has them all the same.
Thanks! Last edited by 65Mark; 05-19-2012 at 11:05 PM. |

Torque all bolts to 25 - 40 lb. ft. - per the 1964 Tempest Chassis Shop Manual.
The 1967 manual states 32 lb. ft., so take your choice. I ended up reusing the factory bolts because they were still in good shape. None of the aftermarket bolts I've seen were the correct length or shape (pointed on the end). |

Thanks!
We'll see if we kept the old bolts and check length. Chamfering the ends is easy enough on the new one, and I can grind them shorter if need be. |
