Default TH 400 o ring

I'm looking for a TH 400 long output shaft and housing to swap onto my short tail TH 400, I have found several some with an O ring on the output shaft for sealing the yoke and some without the O ring, which type is the better one to use

Thanks

Bert

Un-Vented Yoke. Yoke all have full smooth Seal surface.

Long Shaft won't need the O-ring.

Study what the Shaft O-ring does and you find the Yoke with the Splines cut away for O-ring ride, and splines are mostly dry with grainy fluid.

Wet Splines are better for low friction during TQ transfer through Jounce.

So I can use an output shaft designed for an o ring but not place the o ring on the shaft and use an unvented yoke?
