64 GP dash cover
Hi,
I am in need of recovering the dash on my 64 Grand Prix. I have found this cover but I am not sure exactly how it what it is suppost to do.(cover over the old one, or just to protect a new one, or replace the old one?) https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cvc-1198-00-25 Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks |

This kind of cover can look okay if not inspected closely, but they're a hard thin plastic that isn't going to feel like the original. You have to be careful about leaving them out in the sun, as they can warp and/or the glue can come loose. Last edited by Stuart; 12-07-2023 at 02:12 AM. |

I have the vinyl cover on my 1964 GP and it fit very well and it has worked well for over 10 years. Mine was very badly cracked and this looks as good as new.

Where did you order your cover at? I have a 66 Catalina wagon and finding accessories for it is about like a needle in a haystack

have you ever had your car sit in the sun? if so has it faded or has it ever shown any signs of warping?

It's driven the same as any old car. It's received the same amount of sun any hobby car would. They only come in black so mine was painted with Duplicolor touchup paint so it would fade as much as any painted part of your car.

Try OPGI.com (original parts group) or Ames. I know that they have for my '64 Grand Prix but I'm not sure about a '66 Catalina.
