Listed it on Facebook Market place this morning. Sold it to a guy in CA in less than a 1/2 hour!

Hey - someone else who knows what a BD-5 is ! I have vague recollections about maybe seeing the inventor Jim Bede flying that thing in Oshkosh in the mid- seventies…….I couldn’t look away as it seemed like it was about to crash at any moment. Crazy little rocket…

My guess would be 10-15k as it sits. In CA it would bring that. The red interior is a plus, and people like these cars. My choice of the old X frame full size Chevies would be a '61, but this was a cool find/flip.

Exactly.

I would have advertised it priced at 15k.

Always price a highly sought after car on the high side then negotiate downward if necessary.

Now soon to become a low rider, 1964 Impala convertibles are probably the most popular with 1959 being a close second.

This car spent it's early life in NY and CT and it shows. I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting for it and the guy who's bringing it to CA is pretty happy with what he's paying. After speaking with him I went back in and dug through the house today and got a bunch more parts for the car for some extra $$$.

All of the valuation tools I saw put a #4 car at $18-20K. This car is nowhere near a #4. If it weren't an Impala convertible it would have been parts car or scrap metal like the Mirada that was next to it in the garage.

So digging through the garage today I found a 3rd BD-5 kit! It was buried enough and wet enough that I wasn't gonna bother digging it out. As it is, I have two almost complete kits. I don't think they're going to be as easy of a sale as either of the cars were.
