Default Selling the Grand Am

I am offering it here first, if anyone is interested:

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=721675

I've got it running pretty good, and heck, it is now in the Midwest instead of way down in the SW. The long text in the ad is something I have been adding to as I learn more, or repair more.

Thanks for looking, Dave

Dave,

Good Luck on the sale, if I had the space and $$$$ I would be very interested.

And talk about a Factory rareity!!!! I don't think I have ever seen a GA without A/C before. And add the fact that it is a 4-door & a 4-speed. Wow. I love it.

And if it wasn't green (being a military brat I had enough of green by the time I could drive!!!).

Just added 86 new pictures to the photobucket album, check it out. Also added this to the text in the first post:

"Update, 3/9/13, just got a set of NOS green GM floor mats for it. Took many more pics of the car, including the underside (it was undercoated when new, and that is visible in the pics), added them to the photobucket album. The underside pics have a greenish cast to them, but it must have been the lighting. I did find a small (about 1”x2”) rust spot on the driver’s floor, probably from the fried windshield seal. There is NO rust in either the front or rear window channels. The only other rust I have found on the car is some scale at the windshield/dash area and it doesn’t look significant to me. I tried to get all of this in the new pics, as well as pics of the engine block code and VIN stampings.
The Grand Am runs and drives well, is 99% complete, the only panel that will need replaced is the urethane nose (no sheetmetal is needed), and is a great restoration candidate. It is rare and very unique, and has all the documentation you could ask for. It is now in much better condition that it was when I got it and my asking price, considering what you are getting, is a much better buy."

No problem Jeff, it would be cool to meet another member from the forums. I am available most evenings, maybe we could meet in between Indy and Shelbyville.

Glad to hear you sold the car but also sad to hear you sold it. It was one of those cars that may not be the best looking but it was a GREAT car in it's own right. I hope the next owner is going to finish where you left off. It will be great to see that one one the raod nice & shiney all done & makeing the owner proud of her just as you would have.

Thanks guys. The winning bidder is a former Grand Am owner, he told me he has owned 6 73-75s but none in the last 10 years. I have only spoken with him twice since the auction ended, both times he replied to a message I sent. Kinda odd not to have spoken on the phone yet. He also hasn't paid the non-refundable deposit I asked for within 48 hrs and we are now at a week. I'm not too worried, the 2nd high bidder, whom I spoke on the phone with during the auction, said he would definitely take the car. Stay tuned, lol.

Jeff, sorry we weren't able to get together too. Let me know if you will be in the area again.

Update on the sale: The winning bidder hasn't followed through, so it is going to the 2nd high bidder, who also happens to be a fellow PY forums member. The car is going to a great home! Thanks Nathaniel!

I hope you report the non-paying bidder to eBay. Repeat non-payers can get banned. Glad you had an alternative buyer.

Is the new owner active on PY or a Lurker? No matter either way, ask him to keep everyone posted on the car.
Congrats on the follow up bid sale.
