Hey guys. Was the hole for the clutch linkage in the firewall open on all cars and then covered by a plate? Or was it only punched open in stick cars? I have a car that has an open hole that I am trying to plug. Is there a plug I can buy and put in the hole or will I have to make a cover myself? Thanks for the help!

Later, Murf

Murf, I believe it was plugged with the plastic plug but I do not have an automatic car to verify with. Raises a good question as with the AC cars, the wall was cut out differently as per each car . I will email a buddy of mine that has an all original 69 Fbird with auto to see what he says.

Murf,

I have both an auto and a stick. I'll take a look later and let you know what I find....

Sorry it took so long, but I finally got a look.

On the auto, there looks to be a small plate screwed in from the outside of the firewall. On the stick, there's a small boot where the clutch comes through.

Hope that helps.....

John
