Default Rare 64 GTO body style

Contrary to popular belief, PONTIAC ENGINEERING was not at Detroit Mi. but located in Kearney Nebraska all the time.
This extremely rare GTO 2dr wagon was not dreamed up by Delorean, but racer Don Wilder and built from sedan and wagon parts.
Raced in the Pro ET class, Don has lifted the front end and flew out the back door at 10.73. Engine is a 400 built to 468, solid lifters, TH 400 and 4.30 gears.

Might have been one of the most sought after 64`s EVER, had they built this model.

I can't see why anybody would want to turn a 2dr into a wagon, even to be different. That's a different kind of different. I guess it's a GTO Nomad.

Hmm.

Using that rationale one could make the claim that Pontiac Engineering resides in Portland Michigan.

Apparently they only come in one color.

I talked to a guy at a show a few months ago who had a '63 ish 2 door Falcoln wagon. He started with a 4 door and did tons of metal working to get it down to 2.

I believe that car is a 64/65 chevelle/300 factory 2 door wagon with a GTO clip on it.

I know, was just adding fuel to the fire,

I do find it odd though that Pontiac never offered the intermediate 2 door wagon/sedan del. as it was basically a bolt on nose situation with the body lines on the Lemans/Tempest/GTO being identical to the Chevelle/malibu/300 line.

of course Chevy only offered it for two years, I believe something like 1500 in 64 and 4500 in 65, at least that's about what I remember reading.

Like most "Engineering Prototypes " Keith, the 'Williams/Tieman Wagon' costs over 100K when they build it and then after it sits for a while someone gives it away for peanuts. (30+K I heard recently)

Is there a way to post this wagon here at this forum thread? If some one can do it, just do it please. Thanx

I'm questioning the color but other than that, WOW! What a build!
