Foreigner was huge- being from Rochester, Lou Gramm's hometown, it was the event of the year when they stopped in here on the "4" tour in '81. Van Halen, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Foghat, Boston, Eddie Money, Judas Priest.

We were leaving the Skating rink with my friend Jay riding shotgun and Steve in the back seat of my 69 GP.Steves leans up between the seats and pops an 8-track in and says:You gotta hear this.THe next sound i heard was the intro to Runnin' with the Devil. All out hair went straight back and stayed that way for 2 months.Never forget that day.Or the last day of Junior high(Catholic school)we broke out thru the front doors on the last day to the tune of Alice Cooper's"Schools out".

After that:

BOC
Foghat
Marshall Tucker
Outlaws
Orleans
BTO
GFR
Sabbath
And the endless supply of "Disco sucks" T-shirts.

Most of those for me, too. Throw in a little CSNY, Hendrix and Cream. My older sister introduced me to FM radio in my early teens and it was a whole new world of music.
If I had to pick just one that throws me back to a particular day in my teens, it would be Tull.

And the hottest woman in Rock was Stevie Nicks.

Def Leppard Hysteria. Every time I hear it I think of a party after homecoming game in Oct of 1987.

Man there are so many. Different groups and different songs bring back memories of a great time never to repeat again. How I wish I was back at that time.

The best song that brings up memories is Maggot Brain by Funkadelic. It was before my time , as I listened to all the metal bands posted already. There is a radio station that plays it every sat at midnite. No matter where we were or what we were doing, the radio was tuned in to that song.

Many of the posts list the same groups I remember "jammin to" (class of '84). I'll add Bob Seger and just a little later on - Bon Jovi.

Graduated in '97 so Pantera was and always will be my favorite band. Anytime I hear one of darrell's riffs I feel like I'm 17 all over again.
