Default 79 firebird motor frame mount position

I am testing the position of the frame mounts on my 79 formula project, the guy before me had a bb chevy in it, I guess at one time it had the original olds motor, I am putting a Pontiac 400 in it now. this is my best guess of the spots that the frame mounts go. I posted a pic. If this is wrong please forward some pics of the correct location. the mounts are not bolted yet so I can change them around, it looks like someone has put several type of mounts in this car in the past already. thanks

me too.. but you know when you need them...never can find them...i might just leave them in unbolted, and test fit them with the motor, then bolt them down to make sure there in the right spots. thanks

Notice how Leigh converted his mounts to Poly. I did this same conversion and it works great. 500HP, 5spd. plus NOS and no issues. Mounts that are available today are JUNK!!!, regardless of brand or supplier.

Default mounts

here's where I have mine. what you can do is mount your mounts to the engine block, bolt engine to trans, and see where it rests.
