69 GTO hood tach ??'s
I hope this is correct forum for questions like this:
Just needs recc's on best hood tach for 69 GTO. It's a early 69 build date Jan - but I don't really care about that. Has a ready to run quick fuel distributor (has a coil, etc). I want the closest thing to a no-fuss, works great unit. Hood is fiberglass w/ hood pins - no slamming of hood. I don't really care about originality - just ease, good fxn, etc. ( I guess my questions revolve around the findings that the *excellent unit is cheaper than the *very good unit). Also - car is convertible. It'll see a garden hose - but probably no rain. |

I had one from TPP I was unhappy with. Recently purchased one from Randy Watson (rctach@gmail.com) that I couldn't be happier with. Much better unit IMO.

Our best option that is weather sealed and compatible with aftermarket electronic ignitions (Mallory, MSD, etc.) would be "Tach B" in our catalog, manufactured by R&C Tach Shop. The early tach options are D143M & MC (5100 red line vs 5500 red line). Page 103 of our G36 catalog. Let me know how else we can help!
